This is the agreement between you and Freeman. By downloading or using the app, you agree to it. If you do not agree, do not use the app.
Freeman is a tool for men working to be free of pornography and lust. It offers daily check-ins, activities, reminders, and a fast way to reach a real person you already know and trust. There is deliberately no chatbot in it.
Freeman is not medical care, therapy, counseling, or treatment, and it is not a substitute for any of them. It does not diagnose anything, it does not treat any condition, and nothing in it is medical or psychological advice. We are not licensed clinicians and the app does not create a therapeutic relationship of any kind.
If you are struggling in a way that goes beyond what an app can hold, involve a counselor, a doctor, or a pastor. Reaching for one of those is not a failure, and the app says so too.
Freeman cannot help in an emergency. It does not monitor what you write, nobody is on the other end watching for a crisis, and it cannot contact emergency services for you.
If you are thinking about hurting yourself, call or text 988 (Suicide and Crisis Lifeline, United States), or call your local emergency number. Do that instead of opening the app.
Freeman offers an auto-renewing subscription at $4.99 per month or $49.99 per year. Prices are in US dollars and may differ in other regions.
Refunds are handled by Apple under the App Store terms, not by us. We cannot issue a refund directly.
We would rather you cancel because you no longer need the app than stay subscribed out of habit. The app is built to become unnecessary, and cancelling is not something we will make difficult.
The letter you write, your notes, your photos and everything else you create in Freeman belong to you. We claim no ownership of it and no licence to use it. We could not read it if we wanted to, because it never leaves your device.
You agree not to:
We grant you a personal, limited, non-transferable, non-exclusive, revocable licence to use Freeman on devices you own or control, in line with the App Store Terms of Service. We keep all rights not expressly granted.
Freeman is provided "as is" and "as available", without warranties of any kind, express or implied, including any implied warranties of merchantability, fitness for a particular purpose, and non-infringement. We do not warrant that the app will be uninterrupted, error free, or that it will produce any particular outcome.
We make no promise that using Freeman will end an addiction or prevent a relapse. The work is yours.
To the fullest extent permitted by law, we are not liable for any indirect, incidental, special, consequential, or punitive damages, or for any loss of data, arising out of your use of or inability to use Freeman. Our total liability for any claim relating to the app is limited to the amount you paid us in the twelve months before the claim arose.
Some jurisdictions do not allow certain limitations, so parts of this section may not apply to you.
You can end this agreement at any time by deleting the app. We may suspend or end your access if you materially breach these terms. Sections 2, 3, 8, 9 and 11 survive termination.
This agreement is between you and us, not with Apple, and Apple is not responsible for Freeman or its content. Apple has no obligation to provide maintenance or support for Freeman. If the app fails to conform to any applicable warranty, you may notify Apple, and Apple may refund the purchase price; to the maximum extent permitted by law, Apple has no other warranty obligation with respect to the app.
Apple is not responsible for addressing any claim relating to the app, including product liability claims, any claim that the app fails to conform to a legal requirement, and claims arising under consumer protection or similar legislation. Apple and its subsidiaries are third-party beneficiaries of these terms and may enforce them against you.
We may update these terms. If a change is significant, we will update the date at the top and surface the change in the app. Continuing to use Freeman after a change means you accept the updated terms.
These terms are governed by the laws of the Commonwealth of Massachusetts, United States, without regard to its conflict of law rules.
